How do I apply for the program?

Who is this program for?
This program is for individuals living with MS and their support partners who want to learn how to live healthy, full, active and empowered lives with their disease. Support partners are critical participants in Can Do MS programs. The support partner aspect of the program is specifically for individuals who are affected by your diagnosis and are 18 years or older. The support partner role is not an appropriate choice for an individual who has been diagnosed with MS. If you have a person in mind to bring who has MS, we strongly recommend that both individuals attend our programs as participants, not support partners. Can Do MS reserves the right to refuse participation in any program, or any part thereof, to a support partner who has been diagnosed with MS or is under the age of 18.
Do I have to register in advance for the program?
Yes! This program has limited availability to 40 people living with MS and their support partners. The program will fill quickly, and no walk-ups will be accepted.
How will I know when I am accepted to the program?
Once you have submitted your application, Can Do MS will inform you by email that it has been received. If you’ve been accepted to the program, you will receive a confirmation email as soon as possible.
Once I am accepted to the program, then what?
Can Do MS will send you an email with information about the program and a link to the online registration forms. In order to confirm your spot in the program, you must complete the registration process and pay the $100 registration fee.
What is included in the registration fees?
There is a $100 registration fee per couple which includes all group meals (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch), hotel lodging, educational materials, lectures and workshops for the entire weekend. The registration fee covers you and one support partner. Each accepted program participant will be required to complete a payment form once you have been accepted into the program.
What is not included in the registration fees?
Air and ground transportation to and from the program venue are not included in the $100 registration fee. Additionally, hotel incidentals (i.e., hotel parking, room service, water bottles, in-room movies, wifi internet, etc.) are not included.
If I am a local to the area, do I have to stay at the hotel all weekend?
All the sessions and workshops are tied together throughout the weekend, so all attendees are required to participate through the full weekend. Everyone is encouraged to stay at the hotel for the weekend. Our agenda is jam-packed, and having everyone under one roof ensures that we can stay on-time for meals and programming. Participating in the whole experience, including staying at the hotel, with peers and the Can Do MS staff encourages great conversations and gives you a chance to ask questions that you might not get to ask in other situations.
If I do not want to stay in the hotel all weekend, do I still need to pay the application fee?
Yes, everyone pays the application fee regardless if you stay at the hotel or not. We understand that there are extenuating circumstances that may not allow you to stay overnight in the hotel; however if you can, we encourage it!
