On March 28, 2017, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the approval of OCREVUS™ (ocrelizumab) as the first and only medicine for both relapsing and primary progressive forms of multiple sclerosis. The majority of people with MS have a relapsing form or primary progressive MS at diagnosis.

One of nine stops in a nationwide event series, the SKI for MS Squaw Valley event benefits Can Do MS, a national nonprofit organization that delivers health education programs for families with MS. Programs focus on exercise, nutrition, symptom management, and the motivation to thrive in life.

SKI for MS Loon was hands down a successful and inspiring weekend, blowing their fundraising goal out of the water and bringing in $14,065 to help families with MS thrive! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, participated and fundraised! In addition to the scavenger hunt, races, and hootin’ and hollerin’ après party, the adaptive skiing program also very successful and provided a humbling reminder of the physical, emotional, and social superpowers that skiing and that Can Do MS can create, and that a positive attitude and willingness to find a "new normal" can overcome any obstacle.

(January 4, 2017) – SKI for MS (formerly Vertical Express), a day-long community skiing fundraiser benefitting people with multiple sclerosis, will kick off January 28, 2017, with nine events across the country. This year’s SKI for MS series will include three new host mountains in New York. This historical event series, now in its 32nd year, benefits Can Do MS, a national nonprofit organization delivering educational health and wellness programs for families with MS.
